A wheel-thrown waisted cup with a flat base made from reclaimed stoneware.
Glazed in a Shino glaze over iron oxide brushwork. Visible pinholing adds texture to the surface and is a characteristic of this Shino glaze. Where the Shino was applied more thickly, it fired to a white finish. An orange-brown band appears around the rim where the Shino glaze is thinner.
Gas-fired to 1260-1300°C for 12 hours in a reduction atmosphere.
