A small wheel-thrown bowl or cup made from reclaimed stoneware and clay from my property.
Glazed in a light blue Chun glaze. Small stone inclusions appear as dark iron spots, with some protruding slightly through the glaze, adding texture and character to the bowl. These are a result of using my iron-bearing backyard clay with little processing.
Gas-fired to 1260-1300°C for 12 hours in a reduction atmosphere.
Please look closely at the photographs for details of the glaze and surface. I aim to represent colours as accurately as possible, but they may vary slightly depending on your screen.
Food safe. Handwashing recommended to preserve the glaze surface.
