A delicate small hand-built sculptural form made from reclaimed stoneware with added iron-bearing clay from my property.
Glazed in a red iron-rich glaze incorporating 25% of the same clay. There is some carbon trapping from the reduction atmosphere creating darker markings in the reddish-brown glaze. This is a desired effect of the firing process.
Gas-fired to 1300°C for 12 hours in a reduction atmosphere.
