A wheelthrown bowl with a foot ring, made from reclaimed stoneware and unrefined property clay.
Finished with an ash glaze incorporating ash from my wood heater and clay collected from my property.
The olive-green glaze has areas of mustard-green and brown iron speckles, adding depth to the surface. Inclusions, subtle variations in texture and fine crazing give the piece its individual character.
Due to the unrefined texture on the interior, this vessel is intended for decorative display only.
Gas-fired to 1260-1300°C for 12 hours in a reduction atmosphere.
Please look closely at the photographs for details of the glaze and surface. I aim to represent colours as accurately as possible, but they may vary slightly depending on your screen.
Decorative use only. Handwashing recommended to preserve the glaze surface.
