A wheel-thrown cup with a slight waist, made from reclaimed stoneware clay.
This cup features an opalescent Chun glaze. The blue colour is an optical illusion created as light scatters off microscopic crystals, producing a luminous, non-pigmented blue.
Gas-fired to 1260-1300°C for 12 hours in a reduction atmosphere.
Please look closely at the photographs for details of the glaze and surface. I aim to represent colours as accurately as possible, but this opalescent Chun glaze is difficult to capture on camera and colours can also vary depending on your screen and light.
Food and dishwasher safe. Handwashing is recommended.
