This small wheel-thrown bowl was made from reclaimed stoneware clay.
Glazed with Tenmoku and a red iron glaze which contains 25% clay collected from my property. Layering the glazes together creates a beautiful, scalloped edge on the inside and a soft lustrous surface. In the light, it catches a coppery, almost metallic lustre, with small iron speckles visible throughout. This bowl is for decorative use only.
Please look closely at the photographs for details of the glaze and surface. I aim to represent colours as accurately as possible, but they may vary slightly depending on your screen.
Gas-fired to 1260-1300°C for 12 hours in a reduction atmosphere.
Decorative use only; Handwashing is recommended to preserve the glaze surface.
